Bullocks for sale. UA Stirling

You wouldn’t know why they stopped selling texel x lambs in FW? Have had blackie lambs from them too, they all did well with us.

Long story, but basically the estate owner is a tree hugger, and turned a large section of the better ground in to an organic unit, where the cheviot cross ewes lived, and summered over 50 cows, now there is about 12 cows and the cross ewes got sold. You could not make it up???

I know a guy pee'd off with I bidder,
At a roup wanted to buy one lot, anyway as usual it was slow sale, so he had to leave and was told he could register for I bidder for £500,
This he grudgingly did and went home anyway when lot came up he wanted the feed conveniently dropped he could here the auctioneer but they could take his bid it was chapped out to a dealer who buys a lot through thainstone,
My pal would have bid more,
The point he made was if you offer I bidder at a roup and you charge £500 for The supposed privelege, you should guarantee that it will work

That’s where the old fashioned way of a phone call to another member of staff would of been foolproof!!

The sound is good and its good having the weights and ages up on screen but picture is poor. I certainly couldnt buy cattle using it

I wouldn’t buy cattle using any online bidding I’d rather be in mart. To be fair Orkney’s online camera is much better that Dingwall . Not watched Quoybrae because I’m there.

Not looked on Thainstone one for a while but last time I did you couldn’t make out a word the auctioneer said. (Not because of the accent either!)

The OAM one on FB is good & clear. Plus it usually stays online for a while so you can watch it later. I guess we should look into an online bidding platform especially with the current situation!

If you want to steal lambs, it's the place to go?
I've found its one of those boom or bust markets. I've been there at times for sheep and filled a decker with hardly any competition, then the next sale I've not bought a sheep. Then called in somewhere else on way home and filled a decker again! My budget doesn't really change. one of those annoying places but when they are cheap they are stupidly cheap.

If it's the auctioneer I think it is that's a common complaint

I’m surprised they use the speakers installed in the 80’s for selling stock at Thainstone when they have the modern ones installed for events. It’s a harsh sound when you’re ringside all day. Fabric hung from the walls would make a huge difference imo.

That system was never good the one in the byre is horrendous little wonder the backpenning was such a mess at times, I believe now they use earpieces
The old Mic system needed a bleed screw to drain out saliva
