Case CVX 1195 opinions

We recently stumbled across a very tidy looking 2006 model Case 1195 with 6k hours on it but since I've only had experience with the Puma's I figured I'd ask here for views and opinions on it.
I know it has the same Carraro front axle that has given Claas some problems but I think all those stem from a lack of greasing, and a lack of grease is not something I think this tractor has had to deal with .

The only real question marks is reliability and what they're like to drive.
More specifically how the transmission / engine control works, I know the the + and - buttons work like the scroll wheel on most other tractors but can you influence the revs or is it just a case of you're either in auto mode or not.
The inability to limit the revs when in pedal mode is probably the worst part of MF tractors I have ever had to deal with so I'd be loathe to have to deal with that here too....

When you say limit the revs on the Massey what is it you mean? I’m sure you can with mine, either in power or eco you set speed with one dial and max revs with the other. Not had it long so I could be mistaken. I’ve been buck raking with mine in eco set to a max of 1600 revs, if I feel the need I’ll switch to power and she’ll Rev to 1900

great tractor. the front axle is great for absorbing bumps but as you say can fall to bits with a lack of grease.
Hub seals are prone to leaking, front reduction hubs can go bang causing expensive repairs. Front diffs can go bang and loose teeth off of the pinion and crown wheels.
In fact apart from the hut of junk front axle a great tractor. Great engine, Great transmission but a small and cramped cab.

We got the hubs machined to fit double lip seals that stopped the oil weeps and leaks.
Didn't stop the reduction gears in them falling to bits.... the hardening on the gears broke off like layers of flakey pastry and then teeth came off them bursting everything. If the front axle vibrates under braking the hubs or diff or both will have issues....

There is an update kit for the front axle, did ours a couple of years ago, new setup has adjustment in it.
Stepper motor can go if driven at certain speeds, 8~9K & the box is always shifting between 2 ranges is what kills it.

For example on the 7400 models I've driven the only way to limit the revs is to set it as some form of "target" so when you set it to 1600 and push the pedal halfway down the engine never actually revs to 1600 it only reaches 1600 when the pedal is fully depressed. So the only way to get it to rev up even when only slightly depressing the drive pedal is to use the auto mode (DTM I believe they call it) but there's no way to limit how much DTM revs, at least none that I've found...

Head over to forum4farming there's a thread on there covering pretty much everything about them.
I'll do that, thanks!
With that said I've gotten some good amount of opinions already so thank you all!

I have a friend who is very sensitive and demanding with his tractors, he hits them all. The only thing he never talks negative about is his Case CVX 1195. It's a Case painted Steyr. Big tractor

Another question I haven't found the answer to elsewhere is whether these older 1195 also has the shuttle buttons on the armrest joystick like I've seen in the newer T3 ones?

I think the older ones had a shuttle button that if pressed changed direction where as the newer ones have a double button that you can choose forward or reverse

Indeed, the one button setup was lovely, one the nh tvt I used to drive it beeped one time for forward and two times for reverse (or the other way around). Very informative, not annoying.
The way you can override your cruise control setting with the pedal can be very handy but the pedal can also be very jumpy as it only has three max speed settings.
The cab isn't the biggest but it has more space to put loose stuff then the pumas.
People tend to say that the cab isn't for tall people but I am a tad under 2 meters and never had a problem.

Great tractors well ahead of there time. 09 CVX 175 here from new with 9000 hrs on.
First one we had was a 2003 CVX 150, we bought it 2nd hand 2 years old, that had the early cab. Never driven anything like it before, dad concerned about all the electrics, spools etc. Never had a problem and the old man loves them basically and won't let the 175 go.

Yes that is how the buttons work, but if you were say baling at 8k, when you get to the headland you can just push the throttle to increase speed then when you have turned and about to bale again just let off the throttle and it will do 8k again
