What a great tractor, apart from the fact it can’t do a days work without something going wrong, has anyone else experienced this?
Loads of issues with the front axel and especially steering auto guide problems, it is our main tractor and basically every time we use it it gives us problems. For a while it was an earth giving problems, kicking it into neutral but now it seems to be be constant auto guide prblems, we had it fitted with solsteer from new so we could keep our greens star but Jesus I wish I had bought a fendt and paid a little bit more

Is it under warranty, is it still on finance, has the dealer been given a "reasonable" amount of time to sort the issues, is it still broken?

If yes to all of the above, get the finance company to reject it

No point crying about it not working on a public forum. That will neither endear you to the dealer, nor cure the issues

Fenders have their problems too, it's just that they cost even more to buy and subsequently rectify

It seems to loose its parameters on the axel sensor.
The wheel angle sensor has been replaced or at least substituted?

If its loosing the WAS signal it will kick autosteer out.
The WAS signal will be sent over Canbus to the steer controller, but if it was a Canbus problem you would have numerous other errors, so points to the WAS or the wiring upto the Canbus controller.

Yes they have replaced the whole system and even the front axle, but still no luck, it’s one of those annoying things that isn’t major but in a way it is as we use the twit nav for nearly every operation and things like inter row hoeing have not been completed because of it. So I supose just wanted to have a moan.

Tbh integrating green star into something else wouldn't be high on the list of things I'd say would be easy, simply because JD make it difficult.
If the only issue is steering I'd be binning the green star and getting something else which would have proper backup.
I would have said Trimble, but I've recently been told cnh are binning them due to agco buying most of Trimble, and have bought raven for their OEM use.

I think it ought to be law they have to make them easily integrated with each other.

I can say the top con lads at lh agro are very good and conscientious, they've just fitted boom height to my old Bateman, fab, nothing was too much trouble for them.

£50 says it's an issue with Greenstar . In my experience, Greenstar isn't good enough to bother faffing around to get it to work.

Yes its a bridge between the OEM steer ready system and the JD Greenstar.

Is green star the screen set-up as I thought the receiver was called star fire?
I’m new to all this and looking forwards to my first guidance tractor in a month or 2 hopefully will have none of these issues.

So @willy can use his existing JD Greenstar system he's familiar with, he has bought a Solsteer kit, which basically converts the JD Canbus to work with the CNH Canbus.

The Solsteer means he will have a JD StarFire receiver on the roof and and a Greenstar terminal in the cab..The Solsteer will then connect these to the tractors Canbus where it can access the wheel angle sensor signal, send steer signals to the Danfoss hyd valve and receive the signals from the steering wheel encoder and autosteer engage buttons.

Can’t really blame the case for an aftermarket product really … if you’d bought the fendt you’d still need solsteer for your green star ….

Yup, maybe the OP should change the title of this thread, because his issue doesn’t sound like it’s CNH’s issue or problem.

I bought it brand new from my dealer with their suggestion to put solsteer on it. They are pretty dam sure it’s not the soil steer, but all I am moaning about is it’s still not f**king working and I’m losing time and customers. And all they are now saying is buy another one off them

I just want a tractor that is going to work most of the time not the other way round. I will try and get a list of all the things they have done to it so far it’s coming up to three years old and the list is as long as your arm

One for sale here with greenstar on it. Add on greenstar kits have never been brilliant so its probably that.
