Claas Axion 850

We have an unbeliever amongst us. We must find his farm and rescue the unfortunate tractor and return it to the fold of believers. Seriously though I’ve not had a bad Claas yet some people really don’t like them.
I'd rather drive my older Claas than the newer MF I have, and the only reason the MF is here is that it has the sloping bonnet for loader work.

We bought a secondhand 850 this year. It was from a Claas dealer and had been on maxi-care.
It's cebis & c-matic, really nice to drive, goes well. We were advised to steer clear of a pre FPT engine - due to engine and electrical gremlins.

I've no particular allegiance to any brands, but got demos of several brands of tractor this year and JD Impressed the most from a drivers point of view. Weather reliability and running costs are any better than the rest remains to be seen

I'm the same we're not scared to demo and try other things and we've twice tried to get away from JD over the years and the first time was a big mistake which sent us back to JD and the current different brand is fine but nothing special. We've 6 JD 's and they're pretty reliable all in 3 of them are just under or over 10k hrs the other's around 5k . Neighbours experience is the same but maybe we've just been lucky so far.

There was a time when it was reckoned that claas supplied better replacement head gaskets than Deere 🤷🏼‍♂️
That I believe is still true but some how claas have issues with turbo pricing. A neighbour has a 950 with an fpt engine had a turbo go at 10k which was seen as too serious but the claas turbo was 3x the price of the genuine article from fpt. On investigation it was a cock up yes it was more expensive but only slightly.

There are very few used Axion 850s about. We had a demo of one and I was very impressed with it.

Are Fendt,JD money new so not willing to accept poor depreciation.

Why are there so few used ones around? Only answer I can come up with is cause not many people buying new ones.

Loads of smaller range 600s.
I’ve always fancied a claas tractor but for the same reasons you’ve pointed out I’ve steered clear.
