Emtpying oil Via spool valve query

Nonsense, It won’t be moving much at all because it neither reaches gears nor the hydraulic pipe suction point. In fact a good proportion of gears will not even be turning because the tractor will be stopped in neutral and idling. Even if it does move 90% faster [it doesn’t] what’s the problem because it isn’t going anywhere as it can’t reach the hydraulic inlet. Not for spool valves, hydraulics or clutch packs. You just haven’t got the slightest clue.
How can anyone come up with a comment like that and then say I haven't got a clue? If you have a 140lpm pump and 70l of oil each litre is doing 2lpm in the cycle, if you run it out to 14l of oil those 14l will be doing 10lpm to satisfy the pumps demand, 7 l will be flowing at 20lpm.

Ever noticed when you have a bath after a really grubby day that the grit doesn't really move until the bath is 3/4 empty and then it takes a rush for the plug hole? That's exactly what your back end oil does when you pump it out.
Even ignoring the filter, lift the plug end of the bath up 3 inches and see how much grit reaches the plughole then.

This is correct the gear pump will be circulating oil, but regarding the thread topic you've forgotten that its continually filtering the oil. Assuming a simple gear pump system, and ignoring that most tractors will only draw off 1/2 to 2/3 their capacity. The oil at 100% capacity will be completely filtered once every 30s, the oil at 10% capacity will be through the filter every 3 seconds. So which oil is cleaner?
You're making it out that the back end of a tractor is filled with shite when in reality, from your own example, the entire contents of the system are filtered multiple times in a few minutes of idle run time

£82 difference between morris JDF or Morris and genuine Claas oil

Fair enough £82 quid saving but looking at it from another angle it's only 40p per litre which ain't a huge amount. I'm not saying everyone should buy the most expensive oil but I do think that in some circumstances is it worth it for a relatively small amount.

exol utto 420 delivered last week
Exol seems to have expanded rapidly over the last decade. It even seems to outsell Morris oils in many areas. I happened to buy 25 litres of UTTO and engine oil from Exol last Thursday.
A lot of Exol around here various places sell it even some branded to local company names (Aspatria farmers) heard the other day that total oils are pulling out of Cumbria but Carrs Billington are total are agents, and they also sell Exol , but carrs Billington have gone on to another level of being absolutely bloody useless. They have been taken over by Billington and seem to want to run the business down.
