Both sets of grand parents & my parents always had a jug of cider every single lunchtime & supper, growing up with that certainly eventually & I mean eventually cures the need for afternoon sleep.;)

I seem to feel quite sleepy after eating my few sandwiches and salad veg at mid lunchtime, do any other members suffer with the same problem?
If so have you found any cures that help alleviate the problem?
From what I have read on the internet,I get the impression it is meant to be better to keep having a nibble at food during the day rather than tucking in and eating one’s lunch box in one go!!!
Thanks for any suggestions.
Common problem but will inevitably be very individual causes. I use to suffer big time from it my 30s, when I was generally just rushing around and not looking after myself or my diet.

Coffee wont help, and it wont help drinking it and then trying to have a nap. The caffine in your system will be racing around and the quality of the nap will be rubbish. I would certainly say take a nap if its appropriate, but keep it to 20mins max.

Food wise, keep lunch protein heavy and crappy carbs light. White bread? Ditch it completely! Go wholemeal wraps or pitta breads instead. I prefer to graze on food, like you mention.

Might be worth speaking to a nutritionist and / or getting some bloods done too for peace of mind :)

Er, wholemeal wraps and pitta bread are still mainly starch. Don’t let the "wholemeal’ bit fool you. Also, all of these are UPFs even when "wholemeal".
