Western Power distribution.
they found a woodpecker hole in the transformer pole that supplies three phase to our neighbour and single phase to us ( they wanted £20k to upgrade us to 3 phase over 25 years ago).
I asked if any chance of 3 phase to us while they are here, they could possibly bring it to first pole from house the WPD chap said, then I asked if any chance of putting cable underground if I do trenching, he said he would speak to his manager and see what they could do. Result, on Wedsday we are getting a new 3 phase underground supply into the house completely free of charge.

What size of drill bit did you use for the 'woodpecker hole'? :sneaky:

BT - Mum lives in "assisted living" flat. Thursday, BT turned up to connect flat opposite Mum. They connected new owners in neighbouring flat, but also managed to disconnect Mum's phone line at same visit. Mum very distressed as it's her lifeline. I spoke to BT helpline, and they promised it would be reconnected today.....after I gave them both barrels with knobs on. Mum phoned me 4pm tonight saying she was reconnected [emoji106]; just in time for her 90th birthday [emoji512] tomorrow, when all and sundry will be phoning to wish her "happy birthday". Thank you BT![emoji106][emoji4]

Good old BT, I think their initials stand for 'Before Time'; it's good to talk! :)

A few recent ones:
MJ Robinson - excellent parts team, had delivery out to me before the invoice was written up, and prices that were very competitive. My first call for New Holland parts even although they're so far away.
Tasman Industries (www.keysandpins.com) - very quick delivery via their ebay shop.
Rico Europe (www.ricoeurope.com) - overnight delivery of hydraulic oil (again through ebay) at a good price.
L&S Engineers (www.lsengineers.co.uk) - another good place for small machine spares.
Had a replacement rocket gasket from mark, fitted it 10 hrs later it leaked worse than the old one .Rang and spoke to Mark to get a replacement cork one this time sent it out foc with a tube of sealer too

A complete opposite to this,i called a well know digger bucket manufacturer in Norwich last monday wanting a new 39inch grader for my volvo.they woukd not supply and told me to contact dealer or volvo.i said time they have a cut i can buy buckets alot cheaper direct elsewhere, digbits, sps etc.im only 20 mins away too.i put this on fb moday eve and a boss of a well known west country bucket maker contacted me and said he could supply what i wanted in 24 hours.i thought great, dealing with boss of company and they are a big set up.had a price and he said to call him and get it sorted out.called tues and they said he would call back, but didnt, same wed and thursday so sent a message on messanger saying id take my business elsewhere.he replied he was sorry and he would call me at 8 fruday morning.and here i am typing this at 10.05 sat and still nothing.ill have a look at plant worx and order there
