You do realise that’s not allowed! Got pulled on that one myself

Which apparent rule is it breaking?

Use of non-approved storage? For a single day?

If a farmer decided to transfer the grain from store into a mobile dryer to shake out some dust the day before the lorry was loaded, left it there overnight and then decided to load direct from the dryer the following day would the dryer be classed as “non-approved” storage too perhaps?

I loaded up my last 10t of grain onto a trailer last week ready to deliver to store tomorrow…..sounds like it’s a good job that I didn’t store the loaded trailer in a different building in that time! 🙄

I can’t understand how there getting that fussy when maybe they should be checking lorry’s more
How the hell are you supposed to check some lorries? No gantry to look in top, sock permanently attached to the grain shoot. Not going to start opening tailgates as I like my fingers where they are. Not climbing in the cab to view cctv cameras!

Like everyone else I am increasingly irritated by the ever-expanding scope of Red Tractor. However, I would like to point out that far from being little hitlers, prats with clipboards etc etc, the assessors I have encountered over the years have been practical, pragmatic and unfailingly pleasant.

I had better not name them or they will probably be fired.....

I’m not saying you will see anything anyway, I’m saying they carry products which don’t come under Tascc
but we have jump through hoops of where we store grain

Agreed, it's a bit mad the way things turn out in reality.

Lorry came here recently having carried clay. Seemed a bit of a strange one to me. Said they had trouble carrying it sometimes as if wet it sticks to the bed of the lorry and they've nowhere to wash it out. Where they tip won't let them wash out so the driver said the best they could usually do was kick off any big bits, carry on with their day and then wash it when they get back to the yard.

I wonder what they tell the inspector when he comes round....something tells me it isn't mentioned.

this is 100% about protecting their profits

contract farming arrangements are hitting their income (less members) hence they started charging contract farms despite the contrat farmer already being assured …….. ie they want to double charge and are doing so

this is simply about policing that extra fee
