Lely discovery slurry collector

What sort of benefits have you seen both financially and from a work pov ?
it cost 175k. Installed.

4 8 ton bunkers a mineral dispenser system and water valve.

I was building a brand new shed around the concept of all robotic shed so there was no room for a tractor based system .

All i have to do to feed over 220 animals in the shed (5 different rations) .. is make sure the bunkers are full. This takes 45 mins if all empty.. (every other day).

It feeds different groups differnt rations and will mix in different ways depending on ingredients.

It has blades (that are an arse to change) to help with chop.

It pushes up feed too either on dedicated runs or on the way to some other place.

It uses leccy.. i havent broken down the consumption but it proabably uses about 60kw a day when shed is full.

As it feeds little and often the amount of waste is minimal.. this is a big saving.

I reckon that it has improved both butterfat and prot and fce. I have not yet quantified value but my solids are over 500kg now .

Time .. big saving
Acuracy ... big improvement
Labour..saved 2 hours a day easily..possibly 3 ..
Milk output... hard to tell as cows moved to brand new shed in one fell swoop so alot changed.
Solids.. BF est up 0.15 prot possibly 0.1 FCE up too. less silage for same milk!#
Back chat factor... / days off sick.. eliminated...
Breakdowns .. rare now.,.

Currently using it to feed grass and silage at different times of the day to drive visits and support grazing.. this would not be possible without a bot feeding system.. (timing wise and quantity)

Do these systems reduse added water compared to scraper tractor?

Is the water reduction enough to allow composting to give more stable slow release N?
