If any of you have Fendt tractors as well as other makes, do you find your Fendt tractors anymore reliable / cheaper to run

We find them 100% more reliable than the MF we used to run & cheaper to run by a mile , with over 8000 hours on fendts now & we have never lost a days work were the MF is all ways in workshop for some thing , It is the dyna 6 MF that given all the problems , The Dyna VT one has had the odd thing but nothing like the dyna 6 tractors , you only get what you paid for we find.

They all break down. I'm reliably informed the local Fendt dealer does have a workshop and mechanics.
Remember also the Fendt are a fairly small volume seller, the fewer there are the less reliability complaints.
That said, they are at the top of the pile price wise (ish) so you'd expect a bit more reliability than the cheaper brands.

Been hearin few reports of spec for spec jd bein more expensive. Fendt will have better resale than any other though so better cost wise

In my experience of using over the years a 818, 820, 930 (All old style) and more recently a 724, then no. These were all long term hired units with backup.
Certainly no more reliable than CNH and JD we’ve also hired or owned during the same periods. The 724 had a front axle issue after 50 hours and then some turbo/inter cooler issues after about 1000 hours. Then ran fine until it left with about 2500 hours on it.
I don’t believe they are cheaper to own anymore though as there’s so many about the used values haven’t inflated at the rate they were 15 years ago. The CVX out of the CNH stable is equally as reliable and cost efficient as a Fendt because you buy it cheaper but accept you sell it cheaper, but during that process you’ve paid less interest on the borrowed money because your borrowing less in the first place.
I’m not sure where JD sit now though to be honest as they’re the same price as a Fendt but in my view not as nice and they depreciate faster than a Fendt.
Basically I don’t think there’s much in it these days.

What about when your 900 series had the engine trouble? Take it that lost a few days work?

My brother was a desk jockey in a Fendt and Massey main dealer. Although sales wouldn't be like for like between the brands, he stated he processed noticeably more warranty claims per unit sold with Fendt than Massey....and he wasn't talking about minor claims either.
Yes but hasn’t that dealer got 1 customer with around 15 Fendt that are perhaps doing a lot more hours whilst under warranty then the smaller 100hp Massey’s that are sold to the hill farmers in the area.

I think alot is down to type of work and how it's operated, roadwork is very hard on tractors but plodding about on a spud harvester isn't. We traded in a 720 that had over 10000 hrs on and very few issues, but others here have had problems, my 936 has had a top wishbone bearing and intercooler hose replaced so far in 4000hrs both if which were pre-empted by a fitter during a service so no downtime. They certainly aren't as reliable as they were with the first gen 700/800 but still along way Infront of NH

the following quotes may be of help for anyone wanting to contribute to this thread...

Cheapest tractor you will ever own

Our 939 will do 29mpg

we have to keep siphoning the excess fuel off our Fendt makes

the engine blew up and was Trailered away under a sheet to keep it a secret.

now I’m sure there are more I’ve forgotten but thought these would be a help!

Exactly, that is why I said the sales were not like for like, and I would hazard the Fendts would be sold as front line tractors.
However, new engines and new front axles were the popular claims.
