Texel cross, majority 1st cross, some 3/4’s and a little few suffolk cross and Mary the pet, Suffolk cross, she’s had 7 lambings ( I was going to say this’ll be her 8th, but that’s tempting fate 🙈), she will have reared a dozen lambs, always some of the first to go away 👍

Question for you more experienced guys then, what are we doing wrong? (We only bought sheep last year so still very new to this!!)

130% scanning rate, 8 empty out of 100.
Far too many singles for my liking, our llyns have been nothing but a disappointment since we bought them, they seem to have far more singles than doubles compared to everything else.
The ewes are Suffolk and texel x's, llyns, 4 beltex, 11 scotch mules (these have performed by far the best), and 1 or 2 others.

We were aiming to start lambing in february 1st and finish end of february ready for calving in March. We put the tups out 14 days early to get them cycling (half a dozen already were and were served early). They were on the best grass on the farm (full of sugar) and they were in amazing condition imo

Why is it so low!? What can I do to improve it? This is likely to be our last year lambing in february and will probably be lambing from 1st of April until the 30th after next year, will this improve it?

Not much help if you are changing yoyr lambing dates, but teaser rams are helpful, even if they don't increase the % much, they tighen the lambing up

Something over 200% for my little flock. Had a not so experienced stand in scanner as mine is out of action so just marked as multiples or singles, 18 multiples and 2 singles. As long as it’s not the 243% we had last year I’ll be happy!

160% for February flock.
Had hoped it would be a little better, but the grass wasn't really about in early September after a dry early-mid aug.

Happy enough though
182% for Feb lambing mainly suff x mule, a bit low really as ewes were in very good condition, too many singles and too few triplets, although about half are shearlings.

Helped a mate scanning today 450 flock age ewes scanned at 200% but all twins.(scanner man said he had only seen it once before but that flock only had 25 ewes) Great result but then the 100 hoggs came through 60 sets of twins 30 triplets and 10 singles. He was a bit gutted tbh brilliant scan but he was all set for a zero pet lamb year and he is now going to have at least 20 if not more.

140% here for last week January... tups were only in for 3 weeks so was too expect more barrens than usual... 160% without barrens.. bit disappointed with the amount of singles, putting it down too the lack of good fresh grass at tupping time
