I bet when you go shooting you have the full uniform on, breeches , tweed cap the lot. Certainly not a pair of jeans and a hoodie .
The young lads going to LAMMA are no doubt excitedly playing a game of wish, with their mates, and are unlikely to be near the cheque book for a long time, so don’t be too hard on them.

I didn't say young ........ I said younger :ROFLMAO:

but yes, I agree

I wear them all the time, buy a new one every year and am lucky if I don't melt them with the welder or grinder within 6 months. I'm 52 so probably should know better but I do like the collars as I hate a cold neck but would agree with others the quality is not what it used to be, over priced for what they are.
I was given a Purdey Gilet and I have had this years, very comfortable, decent collar and doesn't seem to catch fire when welding, Lord knows what it costs, I'd hate to think but an excellent quality gilet

Ah man of your vintage and activities would probably be well served by some Carhartt type garment- something that can stick hot sparks.

I want a coat with no arms. This is British, imo better quality than the Scofful and is £95 cheaper. What's not to love?! 😅
I’ve two of them

The plastic leather look trim soon breaks up making it look scruffy

So I agree it’s cheaper but you aren’t comparing apples with apples

Shooting should only be done in tweed

I do have a tweed waistcoat for this purpose (not made by shoffle!).

Interesting you commenting on Stone Island,I had never heard of them until daughter who is in the police commented on the fact that this brand is worn by a a special type of vermin.

Never heard of it either. It's certainly not cheap!!! £1700 for a fecking coat?!?!?

My favorite sleevless jacket (gilet) many moons ago was the Barbour waxed cotton one...... sadly no longer made, by christ did they last !

I picked one up on ebay, mint condition about £50. It's perfect for Spring/Autumn days which are too warm for a coat but might have a shower.

Same here, had it right through my college years then worked in for years after that. Top quality so have stuck with Barbour stuff since. Sadly only wax jackets are locally made rest in China I think

I have a Berwick Endurance in desperate need of re-proofing. nikwax or similar. I just find all the pockets are perfectly in the right places and the right sizes for all my bits & bobs.

I was looking at the Bransdale coat if I get rich before next season.

Walking round LAMMA today, never mind the jackets, what's with all the youngsters with mullets!?!:D

WTF is all that about.
