Hi, I’ve just reseeded a 35 acre field on a slight slope and during a thunderstorm this afternoon torrential rain like I’ve never seen before has washed a huge amount of top soil from all over the field to the bottom it is 5ft deep in places and I don’t know what to do to sort it. The whole field it affected not just parts of it.

Earth moving required to re instate the field I’d say.

I would ring the environment agency , they would Love to give you advice on this . ?? My suggestion is try not to put it in a muck Spreader Wheres everything out ,soil and metal you know it wears all moving parts as fast as you want to replace them, we did some once and not again.

I feel for you, I seeded a lawn once and we had an inch of rain about an hour later, the result was similar but mine was only a few square yards.

Earthmovers will put that right, I would ask their advice about what machine is best to use, those box scrapers might be the best way to move it, depends on the length of the haul I guess?

Do not put soil in a rear discharge spreader. Be in for a world of hurt.

EA will not know much about operating heavy machinery if their actions around here are any guide.
