Don’t you just hate it when that happens, it’s a dry summer and you need rain, you go off somewhere for the day, quite possibly a long way, and it lashes it down for most of the day................then, just as you get towards home it dries up, it’s been dry at home all day ☹

I usually knew when I was getting nearer home because the rain came on.

I'm not impressed with the contention that winter rainfall wasn't exceptional - only the 10th highest since 1862. That would be to place it in the top ten out of 158 years . So in the top 7%.
