No, still got it ! Higher authority never mentioned it again, so I’m keen not to remind her !
I find it fine on fuel, but I’m not doing much road work on it, mostly farm use . My furthest fields are only about 5 mile away !
did u ever consider installing a diesel motor for ag fuel and trying to get it on ag tax or would this be out of the question?

The price diesel is compared to petrol your needing to do a lot of miles to make it worth converting, even then a conversion isn’t straight forwards,if you must have diesel buy a left hooker from France.

Farm down the lane has a kap Suzuki, it looks very capable ( was ace in the snow)
However, we have a buggy and the lad who helps out at said farm told me it costs them hundreds every mot time , plus it isn’t any better on the road than our Corvus because of the balloon tyres
Just what they said , I still fancy a go in one though

I think some of the conversions put tyres/wheels on them which are too big tbh.

I had agribuggy floats on a 90 it was shocking on the tarmac,Kap use the same size tyres on a Jimny so I’d imagine it’s worse because they’re so much lighter than a 90.

I’ve never mot’d my Jimny because it’s on limited use,I still keep it road legal, been cheap to own,x2 fan belts x2 batteries and an alternator in 8 years,it does now however need a bit of welding on the chassis but at 22 years old it’s not bad going.

When we were looking into a Kap conversion, the guy said any roadwork at all he recommended the bf Goodrich type tyre as opposed to the floatation type tyre

We’ve got a jimny here which we put an Isuzu 1.7 td engine in which is for sale if anyone is interested. Thought we could get rid of the ranger but the old man doesn’t like the jimny so it mite aswell go. Its not really moved for 2 years but its as tidy as they come imo.

I’d guess not, not legally anyway. There’s the weight issue (the A frame is probably not braked), plus something about towing a higher taxation class with a lower one being a problem too.

Get some long ramps so it can go into a grain trailer and be out of sight.
