I have seen a few skiens of greylag around here in North Norfolk,plenty of food about and stubbles to feed upon.Swifts very successful in house 4 pairs arrived and around thirty left 10 days ago.Swallows and house martins had an average season in steading .Some big flocks on wires gathering for the off in the last week.Slight change of subject large skeins of geese heading south in the last week about 3 weeks earlier than normal.
Same here , never seen so many aboutThe Swallows in the back yard got their 2nd hatch fledged & away yesterday. Still plenty of flies here to feast on. I just hope they don't attempt a third clutch like they did last year which were abandoned.
The late second brood is only 3Currently a late second clutch hatched about a week ago in the garage. It's going to be at least ten days yet before they fledge. Meanwhile there is a big congregation this morning on the cables getting ready for the off.

On the wing yesterday but back on the nest overnight, Slim chance that they will make it back next year. At least the car can go back in the garage in a few days.
