Personally think CVT is actually really good at draft work, though I know a lot of people don't. We compared our t7.225ac vs t7060pc on a 2.5m omnitil (basically trio) in side by side runs of the same field. There's roughly 30hp between the tractors, without CVT losses with 1t weight difference. 7060 pulled it at 7kph and the 225 6kph which we were amazed at. The 225 also had much lower slip which may be down to newer tires (7060 maybe 30% but 1t heavier and has 500kg of rear axle weights) but I think a lot of it is how torque is transferred to the ground by not having a fixed gear ratio allowing for fewer revs but the same forward speed. Is CVT a good choice for a tractor doing draft work? The OP’s main job would be ploughing.
