Imagine being the teacher at an inner city school. Stressed out, got 10 minutes to prep a lesson on farming and the environment. You find that link on the NFU website. Your head is already full of 'cows are destroying the planet' because that's what the telly has told you.
We have one pitch at changing her mind, at making her do a lesson plan that at least challenges the kids to look for a counter argument. Do we open with 'uk livestock is responsible for 5% of uk greenhouse gas emissions', or do we open with 'the most environment friendly land use in Britain is pastureland, which only exists because it is grazed by cows' ?
We should stay well away from any xyz% game. We all know its bollox and anyone can make the numbers match their argument. We need to tell the story in words that Jo Public understands.
Could the NFU/ red tractor/ adhb do teaching packs and send them free to every school?

Don't really know, as we (Mrs muck) only really watch one French program, which is a daily current affairs debate. So not likely to mention it unless they are actually talking about farming, climate or similar.
Only 1 of our girls friends are vegetarian.
Watching UK TV right now , 2 episodes of our Yorkshire farm on prime time Saturday night (y) (y)

They could.
They could also put pro-farming teaching resources on to Twinkl as that is where primary teachers go to lesson plan:
https://www.twinkl.co.uk/
They could also have a facebook presence that wasn't moribund with a pathetic 460 people signed up: https://www.facebook.com/NFUSchools

But they don't. Clearly not got the financial resources to do so.
Which is why there's an attempt on here to give folks something to circulate:

You could do a French translation :) .

That would be a good shout, but alas commonsense has to be involved.

Last years the kids Christmas show was on, I was running late as it was so I was at the back of the queue waiting to go in to find the wife.

Some bloke had decided this was the perfect opportunity for him to push the vegan message down people's throat which was creating a bottleneck.

Ordinarily I would just slip passed and say nothing but he must have guessed who/what I was and tackled me head on with a pack of lies.

I told him if he wanted to speak to me he had to get his facts correct and a kids Christmas show was not the correct venue. (perhaps not that politely)

With that a massive cheer erupted behind me and I said "see no one wants to hear your lies!" I turned around and saw that I had been delayed by this man too long and the curtain had gone up. Still I took it as a victory!

Bien sur!
When the girls were in primary, the pompiers used to take the kids fishing. They also visit rural education sites like

'kin Roger Harrabin from the BBC is possibly one of the worst offenders, I cannot even leave the radio on if he is doing a piece..

Sad to say I agree. There's something about his demeanor that suggests early onset something, so I wonder what is the cause of his inability to update that which he parrots.

He does need frequent calling out, though.

Roger Harrabin is friends with AR on facebook. Fair play to AR. They know how to work the media. Whereas the NFU have no friends in the media, as all they ever do is lodge complaints and threaten court action.

Why not do a bit of research first? It's not hard?

The NFU remain absolutely awful when it comes to education, ref post 64.

That anti-American thing isn't having friends in the media, that is just the Mail using UK ag as a pawn in a wider political agenda. Anyway, as said from day 1 it is doomed to failure.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
