Tractor driver rate

I’m helping out a local contractor over the summer, driving his gear. What would the going rate per hour be now the minimum wage has gone up.

I'm surprised there are no counter-offers of folk saying they will do it for £9 an hour plus a free pasty thrown in? Or folk saying they will do it for £7.50 an hour but can they borrow your tractor to do some work back at their place and also do you mind if I fill my car up with red each Friday evening as I'm going surfing over the weekend?

Depends what you can do, if your just mostly a trailer/tanker/spreader jockey probably min wage or £12-13 self employed. The more you are capable of the more your worth up to about £25/hr for someone who can drive all the kit, fix , service it and foreman abit.

32, been farming all my life, only jobs I haven’t done is spraying and driving ta forager. Most work will likely be on a trailer for silage
If self employed you set the rate so whatever the contractor will stand.
I’ll have a guess that they won’t pay much more than15 quid for a trailer driver but could be way out.
Only way is to suggest a rate and see what they say.
There are contractors and contractor drivers on here but I’d bet they won’t say.
