Bringing a small machine in on ferry, in van and trailer got impounded because customs wanted a number that wasn't on paperwork, you clearly have the number we require because you already have another number but unless that number is on paperwork no entry. Even more laugh able they searched trailer but NOT the van , bags boxes , told them alcohol on board ,wernt interested in the van and it's contents just the PAPERWORK bureaucracy at its finest.
3.5hrs wait for The correct number.

Idiotic behaviour really, and sums up why Europe does not want to do business with the UK nowadays...

But, they didn't find the folks all hiding in the Van ;) Saw a video of them searching for people in the back of a small hatchback that you could not get a kitten in!

We voted for Brexit got more rules and regulations than we had . Do you think a French inspector would say I am taking 0.002 hectares of you because of rushes ? Not a chance , Inspectors here are so worried thy might be inspected that thy crucify everyone . How many civil servants are involved in agriculture , probably as many as there are farmers , they need to make work to keep them working

A friend of mine had an inspector measure the area covered by some trailers and a tractor, parked in a grass field, and knock the area off! So yes , French inspectors are stringent. Contrary to the bollox printed in sections of the UK press.

It’s Brexit for you. I got charged £1500 duty for an AutoSteer system I bought in from Holland. I never thought about it until I got a call from the courier. It pays to check this out in advance.

You can’t send stuff anymore. But in your own vehicle , then I remove all paperwork and if I get asked “I’ve owned it for years “
Worked so far
