Landini LandPower 165 4 years old 8000 hours within 100 hours clutch pilot bearing which was a bad start followed by a hydraulic pump seal which drained the gearbox oil into the engine, since then 3 clutches ,2 hydraulic pumps ,pto clutch pack 3 cab fans and a complete forward /reverse shuttle and a handbrake cable.

One of the first newholland T5s gears would always get stuck if you ever attempted changing gear slightly fast or with a load on shuttle kept breaking a key way fell out in the backend causing cogs to move about The trelleborg tyres it was delivered on disintegrated

was the newest tractor and no one wanted to drive it got sold before it’s first birthday

In 2003 in NZ I had the pleasure of driving an early Deutz 1116(?) ttv. I’d spent 2 months baling silage on a Fendt 716, and was a little disappointed with the change. But so be it.

1st day out went fine till boss came to visit and shut the door so hard it smashed. Then I mistimed passing an irrigator on the way home in the dark and got soaked.

2nd day out. Fired it up, moved 3 feet and transmission packed up. Lad flew down from north island to sort it out.

3rd day we made it out of the shed before it stopped, fortunately the chap hadn’t gone home so at lunchtime we got it going again and drove back into the shed so he could get his computer plugged in. That evening it was ready to go, moved it almost out the shed but it stopped again by which time the boss had had enough and told us to drop the baler in the shed but it needed another go with the laptop to do this.

the next day a new 716 arrived for the straw season 😀

they did get the Deutz sorted out eventually and it seemed to work away in the end.

Bought with 4000 hours, clutch was never right, always jumpy.
Constant oil leaks, a new seal would hold for about a week.
Oil pipe burst in the cab for the steering and injected hot oil into the wiring loom causing a small fire and loss of steering at 40k. I should of let it burn
The poorest fuel pump that couldn’t suck the skin off a rice pudding
Air con never worked properly
There was a electrical connector under the dash above the brake pedals for the brake lights, if you didn’t know this your boot could unclip the connector losing brake lights and 4WD!
finally the alloy valve chest that controlled the drive warped and when warm would nip the valves randomly and stop it driving.
sold at 6000 hours and have never missed it

After @Cab-over Pete thread about ultra reliable tractors I thought I'd ask. What's the biggest pile of doo doo out there, horror stories etc......It's raining I'm bored. Over to you lads and lasses....
well do I get a prize for this MF 7620 has cost more in repairs at 8 years old than it cost to buy new & it is for sale if any ones a rebuilt tractor has to be like new now at a lot less than new money

What used to go in the SLE box?
Everything is probably the easiest way to put it. It wasn't one thing, was something different every time. Think the last rebuild involved a repair to the casing of the gearbox. Too much power, too much weight behind it and steep hills that often had all 4 wheels spinning on tarmac didn't do it any good. It wasn't up to the job, a 2000gal tanker would've been plenty.
