Good truck. No issues with mine at 5 years / 50k
If you can find an Escape model that adds diff locks, low range and a bigger fuel tank, and loses some of the bling in favour of plastic exterior trim
Check tyre availabilty. Last time I looked I struggled to find an off road biased tyre in the right size and ended up with an all weather option. Great on the road in all weathers, not so much muddy track / field
I find seat very comfortable. Friend of mine with a bad back finds it too flat.
Pretty much all you need to know there. Running costs similar, repair costs absolutely astronomical compared to a hilux. If you would be able to afford repair costs if it did break it is a lot of car for the moneyI have been shopping in the £10k -£15k bracket for a pickup. Mainly looking for a 3 litre Hilux but it is pretty though going. The demand for pickups is crazy. Your money doesn't go far. I am gradually moving towards a Touareg V6. So much more car for the money involved. If you can get a Euro 6 compliant one the running costs appear similar. I just fear all of the electrical toys in the VW and what it will cost when/if they go haywire
