What are you doing to stay clear of Coronavirus?

Me i am not coming to England not because i am worried about getting the virus physically but the hassle it will cause if i cannot return. I have some drilling to do and machinery to load but my Kids will have to do that. One is at Kings College and they have cancelled exams and are doing lectures by Skype and the other is a Manchester whose lecturers have helped by always being on strike. I should be worried about my 80 year old Dad who had major heartattacks last summer but the kids can look after him but truth be told no one lives for ever.
My son came back from Manchester uni last night with an exam cancelled and lectures going forward going to be online or video link. Hope he hasn’t brought anything else back from the city !

shop online - everything ordered from Prime and supermarkets this week turned up - even toilet roll !

Was just a normal meat and veg shop yesterday. But unfortunately got caught up with the panic buyers. Everything else is here. Toilet rolls are already here.

Mrs has access to a shop that's for NHS and Emergency Services etc. It's all still plentiful in there.

This is what they are doing at ABN Enstone mill:

What I seriously think they should absolutely NOT be doing is this:

There are other toilets that all the ABN staff use.
They cannot stop providing sanitation and hygiene facilities to lorry and tractor drivers!

That is is step way too far beyond what is reasonable.

For instance, having washed our vehicles with disinfectant, we then cannot wash our hands.
Also, despite having to stay a metre away from the window that we pass our passports through, they quite happily hand over the keys, which could be contaminated by their own staff or previous drivers!

Just so you all know hand washing won’t really help to much, it’s airborne, they only tell us to wash our hands to give us something to do, also the face masks don’t work, only an air respirator will.
It's droplet borne, rather than air borne, so a distance of 2-6m is considered the furthest it will travel in air.

Hand washing is to wash off virus that you have picked up from someone infected touching/sneezing/coughing on a communal surface eg supermarket trolley, touch screen, door handle. By doing it frequently it reduces the chance of you transferring it to your mouth/nose/eyes Of course it helps, it's common sense and it is why the advisers and every medic I know keeps repeating it, but you obviously know different.

It also reduces the chance of you spreading it to others if you are the infected one.

They have always said there is no real point in the general public wearing face masks.

So a droplet landing on a hard surface and being picked up by a hand before it dries won't be infective?

And a face mask won't catch droplets propelled by a cough?

I don't think you've thought this through.

It is mainly NOT airborne, spread by droplets so a direct cough and then by touching the same surfaces. So WASH YOUR HANDS.

they can all leave delivery at the gate as far as im concerned - only issue to over come is signing for goods, they will have to relax that if they want to carry on trading

It was more referring to the elderly, as I can still pick my own shopping up (just) ?

maybe yes if everyone has to self isolate - i can see shops closing first though, contact could be avoided completely by delivery if careful i suppose

This could well prove the final nail in the high street coffin i suspect
Those shops and supermarkets with supplies are making a fortune, prices are higher and trade brisk to say the least.
Its sad to see that they cant self regulate supplies so that everyone has a fair chance to buy hand sanitiser etc.
