Why would it mean wasted time? You can only trim the left hand side of a road and can drive round a field clockwise to cut the hedgeThis might sound a bit thick, but I know nowt about hedge cutters.
I know some rigs can only cut one way, i.e. to one side of the tractor (which must mean a lot of wasted time), but how many machines (and what make) are there that can be swung either side?
Granted; but things are not always that convenient. That’s not answering the question anyway. Why would it mean wasted time? You can only trim the left hand side of a road and can drive round a field clockwise to cut the hedge
Bomford 81/81 will cut 8.1 meters either side of the tractorGranted; but things are not always that convenient. That’s not answering the question anyway.

Only way I can see if it’s not hedges on 4 sides. How do you waste time? I don't understand
Well for example, a farm boundary hedge might only be accessible from one side: we have such a hedge. How do you waste time? I don't understand
Indeed.Only way I can see if it’s not hedges on 4 sides.
Thank you.Bomford 81/81 will cut 8.1 meters either side of the tractor
ThanksAnd the Spearhead Orbital.
hardly a wheel mark ......
I have little experience of a hedger that runs both ways but they aren’t easy to handle on the other side to normal because your controls are working in reverse to your instinct.Well for example, a farm boundary hedge might only be accessible from one side: we have such a hedge.
Interesting. However on long runs the 180 slew would come into its own.I have little experience of a hedger that runs both ways but they aren’t easy to handle on the other side to normal because your controls are working in reverse to your instinct.
I was hedging in a field with ditches each side, the drainage board machine was working at one side and turning round at the end and swinging the hedger round while I was working adjacent to him reversing working one sided, by the time he had turned round and got it slewed round I was cutting!
