My old man had a car with the reg yel 4
Would be worth a lot now but was just a normal number then.
Both our vehicles have our initials on think one was about 350 the other 375, hardly going to break the bank and makes them easy to remember.

YEL 4 would be worth £3-5k, as a rough guess. Maybe a bit more if you find someone with those initials, but not many first names starting with ‘Y’.

Bought one when daughter born with her initials on, wanted to name next child to match a cheap Irish plate but was over-ruled.
Vain enough to want a private plate. Yorkshire enough to make it do 2 generations. ;)

Local man has TVO1L
I've seen a local grocer delivery van with C488AGE

It's always a good idea to retain a degree of anonymity. Private number plates won't do it.

For example, I was fined £104 for towing a trailer in the outside lane of a motorway. The officer who stopped me was PC49. I still remember that quite clearly, although that must have been all of 40 years ago!

I've owned my current vehicle for at least five years and still have to think before I can remember the licence number!

Got be difficult to find a name out of XIZ though ;)

Chap who owned Scientific Lubricants had SLO1L on his car at one time, people kept keying it though, then he put it on the delivery wagon which stopped the damage, mind he was a bit of a Flash Harry, had more gold jewellery than Jimmy Savile, nickname was 'Goldfinger'.

People say that having a private plate makes you a target for getting pulled over, when in reality every police car is PNC equipped and can see who the registered keeper is (and who is insured) on every car without needing to do a stop.
I've a 3 and 3 plate. I still got waved at like a local when I drove up the road past @masseybreaker Towers on Monday night. People just look at the car.

Just having a quick look at them see which ones I cannot afford? They are definitely a good investment. We had a lad work for us , his Parents bought him private plate for his 21st . A very famous footballer stopped him and wanted to buy it . He sold it and bought a very nice three bedroom house with the proceeds.
