Had terrible trouble once, admittedly with a Claas, but a bit of rape pod had somehow found it's way into a banjo union on the filter body, and would choke the flow off.
Only found it having decided as a last resort to strip and blow out every inch of the system.

Thanks for help and ideas, Yesterday morning we took brass non return fuel valve off and cleaned it and cut over 20 acres with no problems so hopefully sorted.

Hi I've a mf 27 combine and am having problems lifting the head when the combine gets warm it will lift but very slowly
No problems when cold have changed the oil and filters

have you got a valve sticking causing the oil to over heat. dose it have a temp gauge for hydraulic oil.

No temp for hydraulic oil and no valve sticking pulled the pressure relief valve out replaced with one out of another 27 to see if that was the problem still the same thinking it could be the pump

If it is a worn pump, a thicker grade oil may help, but make cold working slower.

Thanks I'll try thicker oil I can still work ok when cutting just it's a pill to get it lifted high enough to get the head onto trailer

what forward speed are most of you doing in spring barley? were doing about 2.7mph

I would say opening the spout is a tougher job than lifting the bed .
Well it is on a 36

It has no problem moving the spout
And as I said when cold it lifts no bother but after 30 mins or so it will lift a foot or so no bother but if you try to lift it higher it takes an age

It has no problem moving the spout
And as I said when cold it lifts no bother but after 30 mins or so it will lift a foot or so no bother but if you try to lift it higher it takes an age

So move spout. Lift reel and turn steering at same time.
If that's fine I would think pump is ok ?
Unless there is more than one pump ?

I can turn the steering and move spout at same time it's only the head lift that's
Causing me problems has me stumped

May be three pumps driven of same accessory drive on engine, certainly 30 series machines had duplex or triplex pump on the engine accessory drive to provide auxiliary hydraulics and steering anyway if i recall right when taking pump off. Amount of hoses will tell. 7200 series has a triplex pump fitted. If pump U/S whitehouse products should have a replacement considerably cheaper than massey.

Think it a duplex haven't really had a good look there on the grain tank side of engine
Thanks everyone who's given advice my see if a can finish this year's harvest and look into it in the winter two days will finish me if it ever dries up

About 3.5-4mph guessing it’s a 2.75-3 ton crop
