Into the Superyacht fund of the Russian "businessmen" so beloved of the Govt, ultimately I expect.
Bugger of a thing to find in the morning, sorry.

Not something you want to discover when you're about to start a job.

The sad thing is, if there wasn't a market for these things, the thieves wouldn't nick them. The only market I can see for these things is fellow farmers, either at home or abroad. Somebody somewhere knows they're getting a deal that's too good to be true on this stuff. I'm surprised these things aren't programmed to work with a particular combine and lock-out if removed.

They may be paying market value for it and are none the wiser. I would not by this stuff from anyone I didn't know and have only bought from a dealer.

I cannot understand you people with expensive machinery, it don't take a brain to know the police and our ports won't stop thieves even if caught they get a lax sentence, fit your own alarms to cab's, trip wires with shotgun cartridges will help slowing them giving you time to do something, the thing is if you catch them dispose their body's in the nearest river and burn and cut up after removing id plates from any vehicles....

I'm sure this question has been asked and answered elsewhere, but why aren't manufacturers making receivers and screens easily removable so they can be taken off machines every day?

Surely the bit of inconvenience and time removing and refitting far out ways the on costs associated with having them stolen? If its got a plug on it it wants to come out every night.

We have quick release braces on all of our JD screens , takes seconds to remove and refit them . All domes and screens locked in a very large safe when not in use .

Always seems to be JD kit that hits the headlines too.

Significant sums too - £100k for the guy in this article, another £200k for a Suffolk farm in the FW. It’s not just £5k here and £2k there.

EDIT: Correction, the £100k for the guy in this article was total items stolen, not specifically GPS.
