Surely it's not just my browser that has a Merlo advert attached to the thread?

Particularly like the claim that they're "designed to last" 🤣

Deutz 3.6L? i expect. Just doing bits for one in a manitou samething siezed solid! but is a 2015 plate.

New complete engine with ECUs etc £17.5k plus vat (the only engine offering from manitou, no short or long option)
(Manitou do not sell crank shaft, conrods, pistons or rings to rebuild and no exchange offering)

Deutz UK Exchange long engine still way too much money and the terms and conditions are quite extensive with extra charges if its not palleted correctly not cleaned, not wrpaed in shrink wrap, not full assembled or bits missing etc etc etc Also got to wait around 5 weeks for germany to build one!

Deutz UK parts come to around the 5k mark plus vat but 5 weeks wait on the crank shaft and no date on the conrods yet!
Whats the price of a new perkins engine for mlt 728, 1997?

MT 728 was 90 hp with option of Turbo but the engine was used in lots of their models at the time before 1999 and Plastic Bonnet Side Engine Range arrived

Ok, so let’s use logic and common sense…… if it’s only 1 year old, I’m pretty sure merlo uk would “help” so it’s hardly a write off. What is the actual condition and what caused it ? Rather than we all say how terrible Deutz engines are !
Rob.. we're on Farming Forum where do logic and common sense become involved.?....I know bloke who had a drink with a fella in a bar in Singapore who was told by a call girl that one of her other customers from Alaska had a Deutz with an engine problem, so I can confirm that all 150,000 they build each year are rubbish !!!!

Merlo's depreciate significantly and with the engine and missing hydraulics etc could easily spend £20,000 on it. Its bid at the moment at £20,000 so at £40,000 is probably a safe buy. Get I up towards £50,000 and higher then I would say stay away.
