You both should beI'm fair chuffed with these calves @Brokenwind
That’s a tremendous bull how old is he? Some stretch and muscle in the right places, how a real bull should be!Thought I’d share some pics of our first calves from a bazadaise bull purchased from @choochter
They remind me of my own lovely calves I used to get from the baz bull I had from choochter. Thats a lovely bull too. I miss the baz x calves , I think they were better than the lim cross but the lim ones seem to do better in the ringThought I’d share some pics of our first calves from a bazadaise bull purchased from @choochter
He’s about 4 and half. Never considered a bazadaise until we spotted him in @choochter shed. Really pleased with how his calves are turning outThat’s a tremendous bull how old is he? Some stretch and muscle in the right places, how a real bull should be!
Keep some heifers for replacements but the rest all go to the store ring at at around a year old. Used to run with an Angus and a Limo before, now use a limo along with the bazadaise. 26 cows went to the Baz all calved themselves and calves were up and going quickly.Interesting to know calves look great too! Do you finish them yourself? What bull did you run with your cows before? Are they easy calving
How do they sell and compare to the lim?Keep some heifers for replacements but the rest all go to the store ring at at around a year old. Must be easy calving which is good they look the part I’ll look into a few breeders and see what’s about
Not sure on the selling yet, this is the first year of the bazadaiseHow do they sell and compare to the lim?

Iv came away from lim too wild, I find most the figures on them are made up and iv had more calving problems than iv had with the char and BB. I’m on the look out for a new breed with both maternal and terminal quality’s.Lims are better known.
Baz would have better KO % and easier calving, from our experience.
These lads are for sale, anyway.
How old is the last one ?Lims are better known.

Not just me then, I wouldn't have another on the farm if it were up to me, life is too short.v came away from lim too wild
I had 5 lim stock bulls at one point and you’re right there! Just not worth it yes they maybe sell better just now but I’m sure more and more people will come away from them in the next few years making the less popular breeds now more popular and sell better. Some people are still so old fashioned for example with the blonde. Yes I’m sure it can breed crap calves with a crap cow but so can a lim it’s just they will sell better than say a crap baz or blonde as people are only paying for the name just like designer but the end result isn’t always satisfying!!Not just me then, I wouldn't have another on the farm if it were up to me, life is too short.
