You've had some great looking results out of that Moore drill. Well done.
Thanks! There is 1 field not quite pleasing me but i put a little fert on it few days ago and rain today so will have a look again tomorrow before i decide what i think of it finally!
It is pleasing what can be achieved with a simple old drill, especially after i cut it in half!

So here is the bit which isn't doing the best, just one area in a field. Little bit of rabbit damage but don't think that's the whole story. I think the n i applied 5 days ago has cheered it up a little.

It's the light end of the field but only 1 side, photo with good and bad is looking across similar soil. I'll have a dig later on and put some traps down for the slimey critters

What's the P&K status like? Deficiency of one or the other (I can't remember which) can cause a purple reddening like that IIRC.
P is good k was bit low but it has had 20 10 10 and polysulphate. Also this end of the field is very light soil and i feared it may blow so it had slurry but not the whole slurry area is affected.
Slug traps are set.

It would suffer from manganese deficiency in barley in this field. But I'm thinking more about pests as it isn't across the whole field? Sandy soil and sb last year so i don't think it will be leatherjacket and i cant find any. See what appears over night.
