Delivery will likely be £3-£4/tI feed it to all my cows.usually a shovel per animal or there abouts you'll so know if they've got too much.
Feed it with tatties ,rolled barley bread an biscuit.
You pick the draff up yourself or is that delivered?
Wouldn't feed too much to growing animals. Makes them lay down fat in my experience. Fine for finishing them.Hi
I’ve the chance of draff @ £20/t. Who feeds it to growing cattle and what rates do you feed it at, what makes up rest of ration?
Thanks in advance!
Strange as is mainly digestable fibre and protein- starch content is lowWouldn't feed too much to growing animals. Makes them lay down fat in my experience. Fine for finishing them.
Well we've fed thousands of tons of it Derrick and that's my experience.Strange as is mainly digestable fibre and protein- starch content is low

That’s great thanks, gives me a rough idea.Well we've fed thousands of tons of it Derrick and that's my experience.
If Google told you something different that's fine.
What were you saying in another thread about know it alls?
Here goes 1 of our rations. Hope it helps @jamesy.
Don't require any further comments Derrivk.
This was for 320kg weaned charolais stores.
feed values can change considerably depending on plant & manufacturing process
but you have to recognise that to put fat you need starch and sugar and if you feed Draff, like stated before is protein and fibre, on its own to youngstock it just is not possible for them to lay down any excessive amount of fat cover unless you also fed something else with it that you havent mentioned.Well we've fed thousands of tons of it Derrick and that's my experience.

Well I just know when we feed it to dry cows outside over winter. We have to take them off draff a month to 6 weeks before due to calve otherwise the cows teats are so fat newborn calves struggle to get there mouths round them to sook.but you have to recognise that to put fat you need starch and sugar and if you feed Draff, like stated before is protein and fibre, on its own to youngstock it just is not possible for them to lay down any excessive amount of fat cover unless you also fed something else with it that you havent mentioned.
In the ration above the fat cover isnt coming from the draff, its coming from the barley and the pressed pulp.
Its logic, not about the chap being a know it all.
Make the most of it at that money ! Once the neighbours find out it will be 35 before you know it and if they get a bio mass crap in you won’t get any .Hi

I fed tonnes of it like you said but once it gets over 1k per artic load it takes the shine off the jobMake the most of it at that money ! Once the neighbours find out it will be 35 before you know it and if they get a bio mass crap in you won’t get any .
They get paid of the government to dry it and burn it to make heat now that’s what pushed up the price .I fed tonnes of it like you said but once it gets over 1k per artic load it takes the shine off the job
Wheat feed pellets, sugar beet pellets, molasses oats are all things to mix in with it to make a ration depending on price. Ring KW they will keep you rightHi
