Holidays

We have a family holiday booked to Cyprus in July. We won’t be going due to risk for the kids and quarantine. Will we be able to get a refund or not?

Did you book a refundable holiday? Most suppliers will offer prices for inflexible and flexible. If it's refundable, you just need to ask. If not, you're at the mercy of the supplier, or possibly holding out hope that it will be cancelled or something will happen to trigger a valid insurance claim.

Right now, I have a flexible trip booked for November, but am not inclined to go any more. I'll wait until right before to make a decision and hope that it gets cancelled to save me the £70 non refundable part of the flight cost. All hotels and cars etc. are cancellable without penalty up to 24hrs before.

Well everything is cancelled till 30th of this month, we’re due to go on 4/7! I can’t see every flight and holiday reopening over night with every airport and plane jammed pack!! Be interesting if any one has an aerial or satellite photo of Manchester airport etc, the acres of parking must be complete empty

There are plenty of places to see in this country but I am biased and forced to look in UK. I am allergic to UV from the sun, so I enjoy just getting away from the farm!! No Snow, No Sun, No Heat!! It is also much safer now!!

Freind managed to get there holiday moved to next year and gave them a free child place did cost an admin fee of 40 pp
The Mrs has moved our holiday until next year.
A cancellation would only get us 30% of the money back at this time, 0% in a week or so. It’s cost£1000 to move it. If we had waited it would cost us more each week then eventually they would just take the money and run.

Is the travel agent ATOL covered? I didn't think they could do that. Ours was a cruise so maybe different but we got 100% back or the option of 120% in credits.

Surely it depends when the holiday was planned for? They're only really cancelling a few weeks ahead at the moment, and some airlines are selling flights for July in expectation of borders being opened. ATOL would cover you if it was cancelled because travel was still banned or the company went bust, but not because you changed your mind on a September weekend in the sun.

It was booked for July.
They told us we had to go or cancel.
It’s not practical for us to go. The wife looks after a relative with terminal cancer. Two of our children have had bronchitis as babies both critically ill at the time the second was almost put into an induced coma she was so bad
We won’t be going anywhere
