Never been asked in the pastMy buyer says no glypho. I have uneven ripening Kingfisher with weeds coming in the bottom, must say I'm a bit worried.Spray and no use for human consumption, don't spray and maybe a nightmare to combine! Catch 22. Have others checked with there buyers before spraying?

Anyone grown Kabuki peas this year? We grew 9ha which yielded very poorly due to lack of pod fill. Daytona in the same field did really well. Seem to be having a few issues with the merchant about poor seed quality or a fault with the variety. Any other experiences out there?
yes,
PM if you want a chat.
I understand that in North America some farmers actually windrow/swath their soybeans, wonder it that would work with peas, then pick up with a pick up header later once they have dried down.
Don’t tell anyoneThis Years crop is deffo better than last years atm anyways
some of it is a meter tall, neighbours over 4ft easily.
They say oh you dont give peas any nitrogen, i tell you what they respond very well to muck of any sort !!!
Seen pictures of pea harvest in the '60's where the cut peas were pushed up with a sweep and dried on a wooden tressle type thing like mini stacks and left to dry.I understand that in North America some farmers actually windrow/swath their soybeans, wonder it that would work with peas, then pick up with a pick up header later once they have dried down.
We had some peas that went to Dunn's maybe 15 years ago. The claims were absolutely ridiculous and have never sold peas to them again. Since then we sold (usually through Dalmark) to Askew and Barrett who we found to be very fair and farmer friendly and would highly recommend them.Yes huge problems from last years Kabuki. Other than the sales I have this year I shall never deal with Gleadell’s ( who the contract was with ) ADM / Dunn’s again. I believe I could sue them for the claims I had to accept on last years Kabuki.
I wouldn’t advise anyone to deal with them.
To be clear this is a problem with the delivered produce rather than the seed.
yeah its a good idea in theory, long as the oat seed rate isntt too high... but in practice oats ripen a bit too late as compared to peas , but its an ok 'for forage' mixAnyone use oats with peas to help keep the peas standing for the combine?
If you dodo the peas separate ok through a cleaner, or would a gravity separator be the way to go?
Expensive but so are combine repairs.
Using rape must be ideal but flea beetle seem to kill that idea .
