Seen one at work on YouTube, has anyone used or had one this silage season on the farm, what the verdict?

Do you have one , as you do a fair bit with organic silage with lots of clover in it and there is a bit of lucerne around youGood but not as good as the Reiter merger in my opinion
You need to talk to me re belt rakes. May have something of interest for you!Not at the the moment. There is a 3m one in the area but for our needs a trailed wider version is required. The downside of the Reiter compared to the Kuhn is cost - but the machine and the job it does is in a different league. There is s good chance we may have something soon
surely going down the field and back up making 1 row takes the same time as going down and back up making 2 rows?Seen 1 over the fence last week it's neither one thing or another for the bigger foragers. Same size as a twin rotor rake but can't lift an individual side so chopper has to be in the same field.
Not as big as a 4 rotor for lighter crops and would take too long to put 2 widths of it together to get a big row .
And very expensive from what they told me

That's what a pocket full of m8 washers are for....It's the Jaguar up your ass that's the small issue!!!!! They're ok for the Deere boys!!
I'd be interested to know more about what you have.... pm me if you like.... depend on belt mergers here, but kuhn leaves a lot to be desiredYou need to talk to me re belt rakes. May have something of interest for you!
Yes it'll get the field done in the same amount of time but what's the chopper gonna do while waiting for you to do this when there's not enough grass to feed it in the little row ?surely going down the field and back up making 1 row takes the same time as going down and back up making 2 rows?
We had a merger for 1st cut, ran a rake in the same field. Merger was quicker but the chopper was slower in the swath compared to behind the rake, same amount of rows to. Also where you can lift 1 rotor up on a rake say you was dropping in where a field pikes the merger does not. High price tag to.
