I’d much rather sit on a 6255 all day than a 399
True, true....I have 2. No comparison to a 399. Poor value for money in compared to these...Won't leave here anytime soon....6265 would be a weapon in comparison to a 399. About 120hp bigger back end, better cab. Finding a tidy one at reasonable price is harder

Thanks. They're as close to putting a pair of slippers on as I can find. Far better choice for the OP. We did have a 390T, lovely tractor. But limitations as stated previously. We replaced that with a low houred 6150, for the same money, yet could combi drill with it, handle a 4 reversible auto reset etc...Beauties! They look a real credit to you!
The 4360 I drove few years back was painfully flat as a pancake, just seemed numb. The straight 6 just had no go compared to the 4pot turbo in a 6255For what it’s worth I can’t comment on a 399 but I have driven a lot of my friends 4360 on a Mchale 550 and it was absolutely on its knees and wasnt really fit for the job, my friend has progressed to a Maxxum 115 and Puma now. Having said all of that the old Perkins 6.534 is a proper slogger of an engine, I’ve got 2 old Senator 70s with that engine, which I believe is what’s in a 399 if wrong I stand to be corrected.
That Massey looks mintTrue, true....I have 2. No comparison to a 399. Poor value for money in compared to these...Won't leave here anytime soon....

A near farmer too me, who has always run masseys bought a 399 to replace a 699 that they loved but was rotten, well the 399 was an utter pile of scrap. Finaly it blew the engine so it went for a 6465.Iv found a 6255 with loader on we are going to see
Thanks. What type of work did there 6255 do.A near farmer too me, who has always run masseys bought a 399 to replace a 699 that they loved but was rotten, well the 399 was an utter pile of scrap. Finaly it blew the engine so it went for a 6465.
On the other hand they had until recently a 6255 (classic spec i think) they put a lot of hours on that tractor and it was excellent, one of the best theyve run so i think the 62 series is a better bet.
Everything, was the main steed at one time. Round Baling, ploughing, powerharrow, corn leading, straw leading. Eventually it ended up on a knight front and back tank sprayer combo. Their machines are looked after but they have to work. The round bailer was a belt nh, one of the first yellow ones.Thanks. What type of work did there 6255 do.
Unbelievable where prices have gone. Back in 2015 when I was looking at 6290s they were making 20k and under, 20k for a good one. Ended up with a very nice tier 2 6480 for less than 20k. Made more money sitting doing nothing than it did working
