NH CR combine Autosteer problems

We have a couple of New Holland CR combines, 9.80 & 8.90 and are having ongoing issues (5 years!) with the auto steer.

The first machine worked perfectly for the first year, then it had a software update and it has been weaving ever since. The dealer has tried different nav controllers, receivers and even steering rams that have the position sensor in them but to no avail.

As well as weaving, the swath finder jumps 80cm when you engage auto steering and jumps back when you disengage it.

When you set an AB line the map jumps when the B point is marked.

The second combine had the laser steering fitted which they could never get to work. So they fitted GPS autosteer to it and also updated the software and this machine has the same problems as the one above.

Apparently they know of 3 machines with the same symptoms (2 are ours). New Holland themselves have been and had a look, but I was wondering if anybody on here had experience anything similar and found the cause of the problem?

We have an 8.90 which had a brand new rtk auto steer fitted last year. To replace a laser steer. It weaves all the time. A real pain when you are driving the trailer unloading on the move. Never got it sorted all season.
Asked dealer if they have a solution for this season. No.

Does your weave randomly or are they parallel weaves?

My first machine used to be all parallel weaves, but then they gave it another software update last season and now it just randomly weaves all over the place.
It is always worse on hills, especially if they are more undulating.

What signal are you on?

We put ours on RTX and made a big difference.

We're on RTX I think. Made no difference whatsoever.

That is odd. May I ask why you swapped from laser guidance?
We bought it S/H with the laser pilot already on it. We wanted to cut at an angle to the tramlines. And smaller lands to cut down on the headland running. Some one did say that there is two settings named curve1 and curve 2 and that if it’s on curve 1 this can cause weaving. but haven’t found where to change this yet.

They couldn't get our laser to work correctly. It would lock on but after 10 to 20 meters it would briefly switch to the other side on the screen then back again which disengage the steering.
Apparently the new shaped cabs don't work well with laser steer.

We had a NH tractor that was a bit wavey, not as bad as above but noticeable. I tried all sorts of settings with no luck so put it on RTX this year and now it's perfect.

We swap the nav and receiver onto a drilling tractor after harvest and have not had the weaving that the combines have.
We have a similiar problem but the other way! Combine on Trimble valves is fine but tractor is hopeless. I have no resolution yet. Trimble software issue I believe and Vantage and Trimble seem very slow to provide a solution. Very annoying and seems a big backwards step from some older GPS platforms that actually worked!

Where is your receiver mounted on the cab or in the top of the grain tank? then check the settings to make sure it is set as in that place as originally they were on the cab roof but then you could get signal shadowing from the grain tank lids so they were mounted on the grain tank lids which puts them in a different position relative to the front axle both front to back and height and I am just wondering if those settings aren't correct because if the electronics all work in your tractor the only thing can be that or the steering valve as you done everything else?
