Got quite a bit of frost kill on winter OSR . There is new growth appearing from just above the soil will this new growth actually make a crop ? The whole crop had N and sulphur two weeks ago and the good plants are growing rapidly . Thanks

Do you think that’s frost kill. there was great looking oil seed rape in the autumn going backward at alarming rate around north Essex. Due to csfb.

Looks more like csfb lavae damage to me as well as frost damage, can see plenty of lavae activity on the leaf stalks. Had some look similar a few years back ,never really got going, ended up doing half ton acre.

To be fair Obviously there’s not a lot going for the crop going forward . But when my rape really started going backwards is when the astro kerb was applied. It was like I applied acid to the leaf.

Crops around here look terrible now despairing looking amazing in the autumn. I think it’s a mixture of all the aforementioned and pigeons. Also looks like some have completely nuked some rape with liquid fertiliser.

My most forward crops are worst hit by the same symptoms. There’s is obvious frost damage in leaf petioles from a few csfb larvae. However if you slice some plants in half, the heart and root have mush, with no signs of any larvae. Neighbouring fields of same variety and treatment are then strangely untouched 🤷🏻‍♂️
Someone suggested boron deficiency?
