Thank you for your replies.

Why are the Polish imported machines so much cheaper than the UK branded one?

Do you think i would be at a disadvantage going for a cheap one?

We've not got a massive acreage to do.

None of em are cheap but the Eastern European ones are less expensive.they all do the same job.I’d guess the labour and steel maybe cheaper than that in Western Europe.I’m sure the wearing parts come from the same factories and the bearings are well known makes,I’ve no issue buying the less expensive models.give agri linc a call.they will help you with all you need to know and are very helpful

Another +1 for the Proforge Inverta, I’m drilling all my covers with them this year.

Plenty of weight in them as well so can really sink them in if needed unless the ground is baked solid!
I’d have a word with Agri-linc, there was 12 months 0% finance as well when I got mine so was daft not to make use of it. Just into our 3rd season and very happy with them.

The only negative re the Proforge Inverta is the grease nipples on the packer roller, certainly on my folding one they are a pain to get the gun on. I have bought some plastic extensions tube and fittings to go on mine but yet to fit them

If you look into it, you’ll see that a lot of those dearer ‘UK branded’ ones are actually Polish imports, with shiny new stickers on.;)

You would expect the spares backup to perhaps be better if it were a ‘UK brand’, but not necessarily of course.

Very happy with my Polish import, which was half the price of what a lot of ‘uk brands’ we’re charging for their Polish imports at the time. Import prices have crept up since though.

Price has come down a bit again now there's no grant available for one😉

I’d agree 100% on this.they are a pain in the arse to do.another issue is washing the machine down.on my 5 metre trailed version it takes at least 3 hours but I am a bit particular.only thing that could be improved in my opinion is adding another 6/12 inches between disc rows and rear discs and Packer.ive bunged mine up a couple of times and it’s a major job unblocking usually done with a pressure washer.

What would be a fair price for doing abit of short discing for a neighbour per acre in todays environment?

I see NAAC '22 suggests £24 an acre for disc harrowing but that seems a little steep to me?
