Have my first hedgecutter arriving tomorrow, have a little bit of road side hedges to do but not all that much.
Would I need to get a couple of signs?
One road is narrow with hidden corners but could have another person watching the road for the time required as it's a quiet road and the other I could do at a quiet time with little traffic.
If getting signs is a men at work sign with hedgecutting in progress adequate?

For what it costs get some signs - that way when some knob piles round the corner and crashes his car you have an extra bit of defence...

im running a 1594 and a late 80s bomford, and i wouldnt even start it up for less than £30/hr. I can drive someone elses machine at £14/hr, and i reckon my machine on its own is still worth the remaining £16/hr without a driver

tractor runs at 1200rpm, uses 5-7 gallons in a 10 hour shift, consumables are blades, windows, hydraulic pipes and punctures

you only need one big breakage and you have worked the whole day for f all.

Thats why people run modern kit, how many breakdowns do you want in a small window for cutting hedges. If you turned up here with 80s kit wanting top money per hr, i would get the chap with the new trimmer that covers more ground on the same money and dont break down, your kit is fine for doing your own, but not going contracting with.

You should price them locally.
As far as I remember we got ours from sign makers on Ravenhill Road, Belfast.

The 750mm signs are good enough for 60mph roads.
I just have "Grass cutting" supplementary plates on all of mine.
They fold up small and can be stowed away quite easily on a tractor, the solid ones are a bit harder to transport.
I've had 2 pinched in 26 years of using them.

Just fasten them to the nearest lamp post with a bungee strap. If no lamp posts available you can press the legs into soft ground to keep them upright. Plenty soft ground available at the moment
