The true cost of milk... probably another one sided story
Keep your friends close; keep your enemies closer.I am afraid there is unlikely to be much positive about this panorama program. The 'cost' they are talking about is not a financial one. It will be heavily spun. Best thing you could do its not watch it

That was awful to watch but it wasn't staffs fault. That has to go all the way back to the top and the ethos of the farm that the staff pick up on.Tipping calves out of the bucket is unacceptable and just staff not giving a fu**
That is basically what the program insinuated.Freshways....pay peanuts get monkeys
The stroker was there moaning about cows and calves “crying” for days. Meanwhile, in the background, all you could hear was cows and calves balling! Didn’t hear any of that on the other farms. Plus they had an adult cow with fffing horns!I know the farm and farmer in question.
disappointing treatment of calves and hitting of cows with spades etc .
sadly I suspect that an element of this is when you have a heavy reliance on Eastern European staff with little Trainning this is the result.
shame on the “ethical dairy” representation of the rest of the dairy industry especially when the herd manager said they’d cry for days! We spent hours looking round the shed trying to work out who calved because ours have zero interest once the calf is licked clean. Was there also not huge grants that he received and crowd funding to make him “profitable”?
Exactly and I would bet with the amount of cross suckling he has a massive Johnes problem that will be almost impossible to get on top of.The stroker was there moaning about cows and calves “crying” for days.
