Don't quite understand what's happened to make that the case so far. Ours is looking well has all its Nitrogen on. As long as the weather eventually changes it has all the hallmarks on making the same quality as normal in about 20-25 days time.
Guess it depends on how much your carrying now i've got massive covers. I did also say Italians which need cutting in two weeks really and the biggest issue is lack of sunlight.

My top fields are fine to travel, the lower clay ground and Italian sown in Oct, no hope. At least we still have about two weeks of silage left, although we did buy in 130 tons in January and February, to eke it out. A few farms round here out completely in February, with a fair bit of acreage.

There's several scenarios
Sheep been on not had fert yet, needs 50 units and maybe some thin slurry, will be light cut first week of may
No sheep probably will have decent covers now, debatable whether fert is necessary unless worried about protein level in silage, best thing is to cut it ASAP and reset for good 2nd at end of may
No sheep, grass ahead of cows and plenty to go at, needs cutting ASAP to reset grazing, as next to no one has grazed sufficient % to set up next few rounds
Destined for maize is easy as will struggle to get 2 cuts now before drilling, so fert thin slurry and cut 1st may
This all said, we mostly all have full slurry stores and so it has to go somewhere, so if it will take a tractor for slurry why not mow a light crop and hoss the sh!t on after
Just my musings
