Which 4m trailed min till drill? Pros and cons.

Looking at getting a 4m mintill drill at work and wondering the pros and cons to the various layouts of discs/packer/drilling? Will be used for grass seeding/ a little overseeding, wheat and barley and direct into maize stubble for cover crops etc. Will most likely be horsch or varderstad, any changes to them throughout the years, weak points? Are the kuhn speedliners any good?

Forgive the bone nature of this but does it have to be 4m and does it have to be trailed? Much will depend on the conditions and your soil type. There are some simpler fully mounted options which are less of a dead weight and also likely cheaper. What do you do presently and is it worth considering buying a second hand sumo/joker or similar and then have a tined seeder or similar to put the seed in separately? Or are you definitely going for an all in one pass machine?

Lots of moving parts to this, if you see what I mean.

Most the ground will be either sumoed or gone over with discs before hand the only direct drilling will be patching up grass leys and ,if conditions allow, cover cropping maize stubbles between maize crops. We ve had contractors come in and do our grass seeding with both a pronto and rapide and we've pleased with the results. Wanting to own one for timelessness and been in control of your own ship as they say.
