Yeah you are allowed 31 tonnes gross but the max laden weight of the trailer didn't change from 18.29 Tonnes. So you can use a bigger and heavier tractor but your trailer and payload is still limited to 18.29 tonnes at the moment.
Oic! Must be lot breaking the law , saw a 15 ton Jcb behind a massive John Deere yesterday was quite surprised at the time .

If you think that just filling up on white will allow you to go over the 18.29t weight limit then I’m afraid to say that I’ve got bad news for you.
Maybe so. It makes you wonder why so many trailers over that gross weight are sold every year I bet very few of those sold never see a road.

there is an 8400R local to me which tows a 30t excavator on a 4 axle low loader, when its not hooked to a 25t dump trailer.

tbh, its a lot safer than some of the dodgy small trailers i see around e.g an old MF towing an overloaded ifor williams that looks like it predates jesus. doubtful the tractor has any brakes let alone the trailer.

Agreed, but they ultimately they are worth what someone is willing to pay.
Last sold 2019 ECR88D’s with around 2700hrs for £48-£49k June21, which was only £7k behind new price when buying a few.
The one in the link should be £25k, and will no doubt sell at around that. I know I’d sooner that over spending £18k on a 20 year old hitachi with no knuckle.
However, I also agree about rubber tracks, but they have their uses. Although I certainly wouldn’t suggest they are the best for farm use.
Is it possibly to change from rubber to steel tracks? Or is it a lot of bother?
