Bit of rain but blowing like mad, off away for some of half term so I don’t have to look at flooded stuff for a week. Fingers crossed after the last 5 months we get 1976

Bit wet bit windy not sure if it’s a storm or just a shitty February day ? defo not much out of the ordinary see this weather annually

For us the issue is our annual rainfall is about 580mm (that’s probably about 180mm more than we need ) and so far since sept 23rd we have had 440mm. We have heavy soil and about 3m of fall on the whole farm if this becomes the norm we are screwed without dropping 150k on drainage.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
