We recently put extra 500 hrs warranty on 7500hr 724 and it was around 2.5k.
Had just had stub shaft and bearings which would have been 3k plus so it does pay for itself.

So be around 15k for extra 3000 hours warranty. If needed for major repairs itd be ok but if she was reliable its a big bill for nothing, plus presumably has to be dealer serviced aswel

It's a lot dearer in the later years/ hours it's not a straight rate to 8000hrs / 8 year , it's peace of mind really we have had our money's worth from the warranty on 724s but a 716 hardly had anything claimed on it. The warranty is dear and good it's just a case of getting the right tractor that has lost a packet in depreciation and adding the cost of the warranty for an easier life , we couldn't afford new tractors with long warranty but works at a sensible age.
Dealers will bid them up because they can punt them on everything covered.

No it depends if they need time or hours every one is different, cost us 7k for 3000 hours on a tractor but did not need to buy any time as it has 5 years if time on it and had Done 5000 hours in just under 3 years

I am surprised the dealer is selling these tractors in a sale ,as tractors that age with them hours on them with warranty will not be hard to sell , the 718 is a exhire tractor & was £980 per week to hire from company in Scotland

Exactly if they thought they could sell them the machines would not be in a sale, plus we all need cash flow it’s fine trying to keep everything to retail but if it’s steady they will need some 💰
We were looking at tractors in December and most of other ones we were looking at remain unsold.

Be interesting to see how the downturn affects the hire tractor game. Many would be buying lots of tractors hiring them out and selling them for what they paid for them due to price hikes on new and limited availability. Times have changed.

I’m not surprised. They will make similar money as being on forecourt and they don’t have to deal with customers.
Can tell you first hand that’s starting to get very attractive these days.

Because some dealers are not willing to do a deal on some tractors , I know of one tractor thats been in the dealers yard for close on a year now , a very good offer was made on the tractor a year ago the dealer said no , now that same tractor can be bought for a lot less monet than that offer was now

they will be 10 to 20% less than dealer would want for them in the sale & after talking with Cheffins today , I do not think I would be far out.
