I was suggesting an alternative really. You would have thought the dealer might have come up with similar alternative. Probably don’t care. I’ve been petted up by York Vans ;) But yes as it was paid for then you would expect delivery of said item. “Oh there is a chip shortage“ is not the customers fault.
If it wasn’t “ as ordered ” surely he isn’t going to accept it without a discount?

I think the success of Isuzu is the dealers they have appointed. The trucks are nothing special (I think mine is rubbish) but the dealer make them bearable. Give York vans rangers to sell and watch Isuzu disappear.

My mrs has a Mini Countryman and ok it won’t pull 3.5 tons and doesn’t have a bed/tray on the back. But engine is way more refined. The seats are of way better quality. It has soundproofing. The fit of interior is way better. The brakes are light years better. On that subject the front disks alone are way bigger than the saucer sized ones on my Isuzu. Try pulling up in a hurry. Pedal about goes through the floor and yes the drums are adjusted up and have new disks and pads at front along with fluid change and bleed. With Isuzu now asking over £30k then they need to up their game somewhat and that clanking bustard engine isn’t good enough for that money. Actually if you have to pay the vat on a pickup they are no way in hell a bargain
We have driven to the Alps and back in the Dmax doing it in a dayfor each way without thinking the seats are awful, we have the auto version and while it's not as nice as the one the mini is a very nice vehicle my mrs bought a club man cooper a few months ago,it goes well feels solid, but as you say it cant how three tonnes or take an euro plallet

Hi. I have just got a 3 year old navara tekna with only 13k on the clock. Was considering a 2.8 hilux but I only do approx 7k miles a year so to spend near 30k on a new pick up to sit around most of the time was the reason I went for the used navara and it gets reviewed as one of the best for ride quality.
What is/was the ride quality of your navara? This one I have just got seems very jittery/jiggly when the road is slightly rougher, and I don't mean off roading, even in town like going over a sunken drain cover or on a back road where the potholes have been filled in, it feels like the whole vehicle is shaking and I can feel the jiggling coming right up through the seat.
I am wondering if the rear shocks have issues or is this just what it's like unladen? My old L200 was smoother.
Cheers.
I would think there must be something wrong with your truck as I have always thought how good the ride is compared to my old DMax that used to jiggle about all over the road. Our Navara has done 40k miles of hard towing and the ride is always good, albeit it is a bit softly sprung with a full load of cattle. Perhaps someone has done something to stiffen up the suspension on yours? Take it to someone who knows and get them to drive it, maybe. Certainly mine is much smoother than my sons' L200.

why do toyota GB make it so hard to buy a hilux ? i dont know if im expecting to much ? and i speak from someone whos bought 4 new hiluxs over the years, last one i bought just over 2 years ago and that was like pulling teeth ? i thought buying something new should be a pleasant experience, but no not with toyota ? one example when buying my currant one, me and my father were at the dealership, we asked when we had decided on the options like towbar, loadliner, mettalic paint, what was the price, salesman said to us what do you want to Pay ? even my father thought it was unproffesional ? bought it in the end ? now enquired about a new model and availability, so far no reply ?
Suggest you contact Border Toyota , Tim Aspinall. No messing about

That is exactly how my 18 plate NAVARA was, it amplified every tiny imperfection in the road surface. I’ve got a Wildtrak now and the ride quality is much better, especially with a little bit of weight in the back.

Given that the new D Max has a much better spec as standard the current S/H, nearly new prices seem very high. Used Mitsubishi trucks currently look good value.

S/h pickup prices look mental compared to new. They dont seem to depreciate like a car or suv despite potentially having a very hard life

Sold my old l200 for 8k it cost me 17 k 10 years ago as a demonstrator and it had a fairly hard paper round . I was quite happy with that.

I wish Ford would give YV‘s them to sell as I think they’d have more chance of a sale here. Be a better Ford dealer than the fellas up the road. To be fair my dmax has not had a spanner on it being very reliable. Does the job and not doing big miles. Not really worth buying new or indeed another pickup at the moment.

Didn’t say I thought they were awful, just the Mini ones quite a bit better with a lot better support. Worn disks and arthritis in bottom of spine doesn’t help in my case. Fella down the road has a face lift dmax fury with 1.9 engine and drivers seat in that is awful! Mrs had a John Cooper Works Mini previous to the current Countryman and was an animal to drive. Not the best ride as you seemed to have close relationship with the road which with our patched and pothole ridden lanes leaves something to be desired. Don’t even get me going about the elastic bands on the rims that passed for tyres - best thing going for T Elsey Tyres at Malton. I’m not a big fan of Minis but the mrs likes them. I think there are probably better cars for the money. That said the Countryman is a little more civilised.

To be fair what I paid for my D-Max it isn’t a bad vehicle. Not driven to the Alps (chance would be a fine thing) but had a few long runs up into Scotland in relative comfort. My Utah has electric seat which gives just the right adjustment. I had a Shogun for a while and seat back being manual never seemed at right angle. One notch was too far back and the next too upright! New dmax interior is a step up and as far as I went in it found the seat very comfortable. Brakes seemed better and think it has bigger disks at the front. It was quieter and liked the big 9” tele in the dash. Had wireless CarPlay too. IF it came with or had the option of the 3.0 available in Australia and NZ (called a Ute ;))I think I would have bought one. I thought the 1.9 spoilt it.

So parking a pickup in the field didn’t scare them ;)

Looks tidy though 👍

Slightly off topic, apologies, wondering if the Alpha gsr top off my 17 plate Hilux will go on 21 plate model, I have changed colours and wondered if top could be sprayed, the new pick up has arrived but we are waiting for the new top.
I have the Toyota back on both, it does look Identical to the old one but not sure. Will look tomorrow.
