i take my hat off to you trying to run one of them combines, we had a MF625 years ago & if i had a match i would have set it on fire more than onceThat will be my plan if it happens, I'd rather an old Class than a newer MF
Most them old fergies didn’t need a hand too catch fire tbf
When my dads caught fire for the 3rd time I asked him if he’d rang the fire brigade yet and he said “we will give it another 10 minutes make sure it’s Definatly a write off first”

Bet insurance won't offer you what you've spent on it this year.Interesting news on the MF 7274 combine.
After my brush with a low branch on a tree looks like the repairs are going to rather expensive, might even be the end of the beast. Apparently some of the panels damaged are no longer made as the factory has been closed for a while and 1 small panel on its own was £3k if available
Soooooo, watch this space, there maybe an end to the frustrations
Better buy a pop rivet gun [emoji16]
I'd run it a sis, I'm not big on pretty tin work, but mechanically its not capable of the area covered, losing a few £ could solve a few issues long term.

How many acres all you expecting it to cut? We run two 7278 and a 40 and get on well with them, good simple combines and leave very nice straw.
Pecks no good?No one local I trust for backup
Had 2 bad experiences, not keen on going there again
8-900 between the 2 farms, straws nice, cant seem to get it to process Barley to my liking. Will miss the Powerflow header though, best part of it.

Always had a Very good barley sample off ours , one thing you could get along with breakdowns was a good sample.
Wont miss the power flow , when trying to pick up down corn on uneven ground when damp was the angry driving a combine I could get , o look I am bulldozing dirt again but I haven’t stopped in time before the belts have taken it into the front elevator and then the drum!! Hateful things.

Crikey ours are averaging less than 2 k each , sometimes cutting over 1200 acre's each

It must almost be like a new combine the amount of parts you have replaced.
Plus your now a experienced MF combine mechanic!
