NFU Leader Retires

good riddance. to the stupid person

Not a dry eye in the house apparently....

Away from the peacocking the sad truth is with Red Tractor and net zero nonsense on her watch she has sold farmers a pup and left the NFU with much less respect and trust. It may even sink in with some of the acolytes eventually. When people realise what knots the GFC and net zero will put them in I'd imagine some regret.

I am not a Minette fan but your reply is bang out of order 😡 and says more about you than Minette. Perhaps you should reflect on it for a moment ……… and consider where the delete button is.

I wouldnt say it either.

But I knew why he said it, what your union leader has done to farmers with the GFC is absolutely deplorable.

Shes completely complicit in the sell out of farming through red tractor and the greener farms commitment. Shes promised a review that was done over xmas secretly. Farmers, the biggest shareholders in rt only got to know because of Aims. 2000 plus farmers engaged, said they wernt happy with rt at all, campbell tickel reported this to be fair to them. Report comes out........Nothing to see here carry on rt is brilliant (farmers views dont count). Nfu have their confrence thats sponsered by red tractor, yep the ones the nfu held a completely independent review into.
Minnete struts about as the savoiur of british agriculture. Her already promoted underlings clap. Meanwhile gfc is getting imlemented on 1st april. Without farmers having a say.
Need to reflect myself? naa iv never lied in farming, im straight forward, call a spade a spade and know Whats right and whats wrong.

You've said it. You're right. I agree

But this time you did it without the personal insults

I'm not a shy flower but I believe your previous post devalued you and us in our protest and will definitely be used against "toxic forums"

Well done to Minette for getting the post in the first place.

Shame you never quite understood how the majority of farmers felt about RT and how you tried to slip the greening rubbish into it all.
Honestly thought she was a trend setter at the time, brillant public face of the nfu, articulate, smart, could hold her own among the best of them in the public eye/on tv but her fanatical obsession with rt has undone her good work. Also her reluctance to take critacisim without going on the attack. (Sometimes with real viriol) Or the claims of bullying when questioned has undone any good work she did. Sad really.

Changed it, fair enough. But im angry. Sorry but i feel like the days of turning the other cheek have gone.
I understand and I don't disagree with your original wording, Batters has followed the money from the likes of BRC and delivered a decline in farmers income with increasing workload.

She followed the money from the likes of BRC as evidenced in this forum, that's why she promoted RT.

None so blind as those that will not see

You don’t get it do you

Public forum searchable by any search engine

All you’re doing is damaging the debate and possibly keeping wavering NFU members when they read that bile

Well done for the original poster for modifying his post

Tensions and emotions are high I accept but you’re actually making the situation worse

The gaslighting by oversight orgs like the NFU is what stirs some of us who look for leadership. They are talking shops for policy/strategy but it's just they ain't very good at it.

If they can't persuade us of their ideas, those of us they claim to represent, then they try dismiss our legitimate and reasoned objections with temper tantrums or worse.

The NFU needs young blood.

I’m not as frequent a user of TFF in recent months and this thread is exactly why.
The comments on here are absolutely vile and imho looses any credibility that the TFF family has as a voice for agriculture in the UK and wider.
I know not everyone will agree and be happy with NFU and her but to have to those things posted on an online, free access to all forum is just not o.

Trouble is conference was full of people fawning over her. To many want a grip on the greasy pole so follow the agenda.
NFU needs to go, it will never change.

Undoubtedly farming is in a worse state than when she took the job on.

NFU appears to be losing members rapidly, however, I suspect their finances are probably improved because of large membership fees from their corporate members.

Will be interesting if Tom Bradshaw is able to change anything.

I'm sure most kids will have heard most of those insults in the playground by the age of seven. You are right that it's childish and devalues the argument, but not that serious.

An open forum is a bit like parliament and democracy, not everyone agrees. It seems at the NFU, that's not the case and the great leader is worshipped by one and all for fear of excommunication, in other words debate is stifled. Like what happens in Russia.

Don't be too precious. We're all grownups.
