Pronto or Rapid?

Like others have said I also have some parts of fields that can only be drilled downhill and use auto steer to work in lands.
Also have to lift the front 4 packer tyres up on the rear hydraulics in some places to transfer more weight to back of tractor to gain grip.

We've just gone from a 3m combi to 3m Pronto. We're on light land and pull it with JD 155R. Brilliant drill, I like the way the tyre packer is in front of drilling discs. Wouldn't go back.

We had a short experience with a rapid after a good demo we bought a used one and it was a good drill. We went back to a combi soon afterwards.

But they seem to need a billiard table level seedbed with the coulters being in front of the wheel that controls them as with a high bit it'll bury it too deep and if you get a low bit the seed is left on the top . A power harrow might cure this but we only had a carrier and it wasn't the tool for the job .

The horsch setup will be better in that respect but possibly not as much cultivation as the vaddy .

Never had a problem with seed depth always comes up evenly light or heavy soils but a firm seedbed is best
We're used to kuhn disc drill so the wheel controlling the seed depth is a short distance behind the disc so it copes with slight differences well . The vaderstad while good most of the time was sh**e with endrigs etc where you couldn't fill in furrows or holes in corners 100% and my boss just couldn't stand to look at it to be fair it yielded well enough but the fields were patchy and it just didn't fit our system like we thought it would.
The extra acres of drilling per hour 19 acre per hour was easy enough but it needs someone working in front all the time where with the combi one man can easily do 7 acre per hour on his own leaving the other man for other things
