Some of our barley looked pretty uneven a fortnight ago but the later tillers are progressing pretty rapidly. I don’t think we will need glyphosate but harvest will be the last week of August IME.
Didn’t half the other ears fall off on that time? Propino certainly seems to self combust pretty quickly. When malting premiums were good and we had 20% greens waiting till it was ready ensured it all made spec
combine from 15 august to 15 September
if I could get it drilled earlier then early August would be possible
the mid April planted is even here rained the week it was planted and has had regular rain since
no,hes right...must be becos my Dad used to say that as well.....My old man reckons rain ripens barley quicker than sun , he's nuts ...

There was a variety called Mazurka in the 70s. The worst ever for losing heads on the floor, but a high yielder if you were quick enough.Didn’t half the other ears fall off on that time? Propino certainly seems to self combust pretty quickly.

Seen some barley today that must have had a fair dose of fungicide. Will maybe be ready at end of September.
